Exhibition: TOTEMS
An exhibition by Paul Sydorenko
March 12 - March 28, 2010
Opening reception 7-10 pm, Friday, March 12, 2010
Totems, an arrangement of new works by Paul Sydorenko, subtly parodies the perils and conquests of mankind with innocence and simplicity. He creates conceptual scenes that demonstrate the battle between the untamed and civilized; rural and inner-city. Influenced by animals and nature, he places them in a series of narratives where they serve as subjective mirrors and guides, relating them to the human psyche.
Utilizing a range of mediums, Paul runs the gamut of creating pieces that contrast productive and opposing emotions. Patterned and layered, his works blend earnest and whimsy to progress an unending course of doleful compassion.
